Hey there!

SIMPLIFY both sides of your equation:

4/7 = x + (-1/12)

FLIP the equation: x + (-1/12) = 4/7

Now, ADD by 1/12 on your sides

x + -1/12 + 1/12 = 4/7 + 1/12

Cancel out: -1/12 + 1/12 because it gives you 0

Keep: 4/7 + 1/12 because it solves for x

Thus, this means that x = 55/84

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
