Let the slope be m.

Using y = mx + c,   since it passes through (-2, -6)   x₁ = -2, y₁ = -6

The point slope form is :

y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

y - -6 = m(x -  -2)

y + 6 = m(x + 2)

So the point slope format is y + 6 = m(x + 2), where m = slope.
