I am doing Transforming Equations Containing only Variables : Algebra 1 :

Problem ax + by = c solve for y

y=(c-ax) divided by b

The (c-ax) is divided as a whole over b. Thus reaching an answer for y.

Rearrange: by= -ax+c
Cancel: by/b=(c-ax)/b
Answer: y= c-ax/b
