You simplify a expression using like terms by taking the 2 with the exact same variable and combining them.And the 2 (or more)constants and combine them. For example: 2x+6-2x+1= 2x combined with 2x equals 4x And positive 6 plus positive 1 equals positive 7. Hoped this helps
