the given points are

(x1 , y1) = (-1 , -5) and ()x2, y2) = (1 , -1)

the slope of the line is given as follows,

[tex]m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}[/tex][tex]\begin{gathered} m=\frac{-1-(-5)}{1-(-1)} \\ m=\frac{-1+5}{1+1}=\frac{4}{2}=2 \end{gathered}[/tex]

so the slope is m = 2
